The buzz around the internet is that now that the Republicans have taken control of the house, gridlock will ensue and nothing will get done. That is fine with me, considering that nothing good has gotten done in the last two years anyhow. I would have preferred if even less of the nonsense the Democrats have forced down our throats had failed to launch in the first place. The problem I have with all of the hoopla from Washington is not that they are proposing ideas in such arenas as health care, it is that they are doing it blindly; an…
Image via Wikipedia Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D) spoke at a senior center in Conklin, NY. He promoted some of the new health care legislation and it's effects on Social Security and Medicare . Hinchey Spoke for around 40 minutes and than went outside to talk to the press. There was no formal Q&A after his speech. However, he was stopped outside the event and asked some questions by concerned citizens. A few of the folks there were not Democrats, and were not too pleased with Mr. Hinchey. During a conversation Hinchey dismisses…
For those uninsured in America because of a pre-existing condition, Obama says help is on the way. And by help he means a vague new insurance that costs a lot and the benefits of which are as of yet completely unknown. Sounds like the government to me. The new Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan went in to effect July 1st and is aimed at covering people who were previously uninsurable because of a wide range of 'pre-existing' conditions. Health Insurance companies had some pretty broad definitions of what that meant. Diabe…
So Tomorrow is April 15th, and there are around 650 Tea Party protests scheduled for "Tax Day". The final day of the "Tea Party Express" will end at a rally in the nations capital. This grassroots phenomenon that is sweeping the country has some left-wing extremists very riled up and they plan to take action. The website Crash the Tea Party is inviting people to show up and disrupt the tea party protests. There is even subtle hinting that if someone portrays themselves as a racist, homophobic tea partyer than it may j…
R.I.P. Lady Liberty, you shall not be forgotten. Obama claims it's a "Victory for the American people." Victory is about overcoming an adversary and insuring the continued survival of your side. 54% of Americans are opposed to the Obamacare bill. 57% believe it will drive the cost of health care up and 54% believe that it will drive the quality of health care coverage down. This according to a Rasmussen poll. But don't take my word for it, you can take the word of every polling agency and news service you can think of…
The White house has decided that the best way to start off their feel-good bi-partisan health care bonanza was to accuse Republicans of not having a plan of their own. Doesn't really help the matter in the least, and, it's a lie. The GOP has had a summary and a 219 page document outlining their alternative to the Democrats nearly 2,000 page monstrosity. I had read the original House bill in it's 1,100 pages of glory many months ago. It was to say the least, vague and full of services that were unnecessary, or incomprehensible to a…
Things are starting to look up in Massachusetts . Scott Brown who was behind his opponent Martha Coakley by a whopping 31% is now up by 4% a gain of 35% in a little over a month. Brown has had an uphill battle fighting Democrat Coakley for the senate seat left Vacant after Ted Kennedy passed away in August of 2009 from a malignant brain tumor . The seat had been held by Kennedy, a Democrat for 47 years. But Mass. is a very different race for a number of reasons including the fact that Coakley supports the Obama health care bill in a…
U.S. Representative Parker Griffith (D)Ala. has had enough. He said goodbye to the Democratic party and joined the Republicans after it became apparent to him that his party was ruining the country. "I believe our nation is at a crossroads and I can no longer align myself with a party that continues to pursue legislation that is bad for our country, hurts our economy, and drives us further and further into debt,"Griffith said as he spoke to reporters. His wife,Virginia standing by his side. Rep. Griffith decided to leave due to …
New weekly item. Every week I'm going to highlight stories from across the pond shedding some light on just how bad the British Health care system really is. Before I go in to the current story let me give you a taste of the current state of affairs in the U.K. in regards to their socialized health care system. Police, firemen and paramedics refused to go to the aid of an accident victim who was drowning in just 18 inches of water... because they believed it was too dangerous. Link An emergency patient died after an ambulance driver …
Talkmaster Neal Boortz wrote an interesting piece in the Atlanta Journal Constitution n Friday the 13th.(ooh, spooky.)Spelling it out in plain English how health care is not a right, and the federal government has absolutely no business in making legislation for or against it nor does it have the right to force it's citizens to have it. Neal's Argument that it is not right for the government to reconnoiter a doctors time for one second to appease a government run program. Such an act amounts to slavery in the eyes of most intelligent…
