January 19th, Election day is finally upon us and the people of Mass. are heading out to the polls to cast their vote for the candidate that will fill the late Ted Kennedy 's shoes. In the beginning of this race it looked as though Martha Coakley (D.) was going to coast in to the vacant senate seat. At the time her nearest opponent, Scott Brown was over 30 points behind. It looks like the predictions were right. The actions of President Barack Obama in the past year have done some major damage to the credibility of the Democrat party. With poll numbers showing Barack Obama's popularity dwindling, only 46% of Americans approve of his work so far and support for the Democrats health care at an abysmal 42% according to a January 3rd Rasmussen poll.
